Thaldrak

Description:
Bio:

Thaldrak was born and raised in the dwarven city of Mithral Hall, ruled by the “Battlehammer clan”. His father Torgarn insisted that he would take over the family blacksmithing business. But after a few years of blacksmithing apprenticeship it became clear that he was more interested in using the weapons he made then actually forging them. Too much chagrin of his mother Rena he enlisted in to the dwarven army. At the start of his training, he was forced like all dwarves to use a battle axe but he didn’t like to use them because they were so clunky and imprecise to wield. During his first battle against a “human army” he took the sword of one of enemy soldiers and proved to be very effective with it. Too much controversy he hasn’t stopped using swords, but it was still frowned upon by his superiors. Nonetheless He’s showed a lot of skill in the battles he fought and climbed the ranks within the dwarven military faster than any one did before. As a reward for his victories in battle, the clan leader Connerad Brawnanvil, gave him the opportunity to perfect his swordmanship; he got the chanse to train with one of the most legendary swords men of all Faerûn, the draw-elf “Drizzt Do’Urden”. After 2 years of vigorous training in Icewind Dale he came back as master swordsman to Mithral Hall to become one of personal bodyguards of Connerad Brawnanvil.

One day he was tasked to escort Gwennys the daughter of Connerad Brawnanvil on trip from Mithral Hall to Waterdeep. She was expected in Waterdeep as an ambassador for the dwarves of Mithral hall to renegotiate the trade agreements. Halfway the trip they stayed at an inn, that evening the drinks at the bar where for free because it was Gwennys her birthday. Thaldrak could not withstand the temptation and drank until he passed out on the bar. When he woke up next morning with a serious hangover Gwennys was nowhere to be found. All here belongings where still present in the room of the inn, so he figured she was kidnapped. He searched for her for several days, but she was nowhere to be found. Ashamed he reported back to Connerad. Connerad was infuriated and could not believe that one of his best bodyguards was passed out drunk while his daughter disappeared. After that incident Thaldrak was removed form the head of the guard and stripped of all his privileges and demoted to a basic soldier. Thaldrak was so ashamed that he left town and vowed to clear his name before ever showing his face in Mithral Hall again. Now he wanders Faerûn as a sellsword in search of Gwennys while helping as many people as he can along the way so he can clear his conscience.
